USHERING IN A NEW CHAPTER FOR TOURISM & HOSPITALITY
There has never been a more important time in the history of British Columbia’s tourism and hospitality industry to band together.
And we will do just that at the 2023 BC Tourism & Hospitality Conference (BCTHC), brought to you by a partnership between the Tourism Industry Association of BC and the BC Hotel Association.
The 2023 conference theme is All Systems Go! After navigating through many pandemic-related challenges, the BC tourism and hospitality industry is ready to launch into a new season with strategies and tactics to build business, expand into new markets, develop new products and services, nurture relationships, and tackle issues such as sustainability, diversity/equity/inclusion, reconciliation, and other priorities as a strong, resilient and determined sector.
As the voice of tourism for BC, TIABC advocates for the interests of BC’s $21.5 billion visitor economy. We work collaboratively alongside sector partners, destination management and marketing organizations, communities and businesses to amplify concerns, provide recommendations to all levels of government and to ensure the best working environment for a competitive tourism industry.
Equally, the BCHA is the voice of the province’s accommodation industry, advocating at the federal, provincial, and community levels. Committed to ensuring the prosperity of the entire tourism and hospitality network, the BCHA fosters positive change through advocacy, communication, and education. Working closely with government, operators, and industry stakeholders, the BCHA champions accommodation-related issues including matters of taxation, workforce shortages, sustainability, supply chain functionality, consumer services, and COVID-19 relief, among other priorities.
Since the start of the pandemic, TIABC and BCHA have been closely aligned, working tirelessly to advocate for relief and recovery support to help businesses survive and to begin the process of rebuilding BC’s visitor economy.
Collaborating on the BC Tourism and Hospitality Conference provides our industry with the tools, knowledge and skills needed to further navigate these unchartered waters together and kickstart the comeback. Our desire is for all BCTHC delegates to be informed, motivated, inspired, and equipped to come back even stronger.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2023 BC Tourism & Hospitality Conference, taking place March 1-3, 2023.
