How to Get to Prince George

As the region's central hub for the railway, highway, and airways, Prince George is very accessible for all travellers!
Since there are a few different options available to get to Prince George, we have gone ahead and included those options below for your reference.

  • By Air

    Operating airlines at YXS are:

    Air Canada, WestJet and Central Mountain Air. 

    Prince George Airport welcomes arrivals and departures from:

    • Vancouver

    • Victoria

    • Kelowna

    • Kamloops

    • Fort St. John 

    • Terrace

    Air Canada is the conference's preferred airline. Please check your registration confirmation for a discount code that you can use.

  • By Car

    Prince George has two highways servicing the city, which intersect in the middle of the city. Those highways are:

    Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway). Prince George can be reached travelling east from Prince Rupert or travelling west from Edmonton (about 8 hours)

    Highway 97. Prince George can be reached by travelling south from Dawson Creek or by travelling north from Kamloops. It's an 8-10 hour drive north from Vancouver, involving travelling on Highway 1 and then transferring to Highway 97 at Cache Creek. Prince George is a frequent stop for people en route to travel the Alaska Highway, which starts in Dawson Creek.

  • By Bus

    There are two bus companies that offer trips to Prince George from various BC cities:

    BC Bussing offers routes from Prince Rupert, Valemount, and Fort St. John.

    Adventure Charters offers routes from Surrey, Kamloops, and Williams Lake

  • By Train

    Prince George has a VIA rail train station centrally located for travellers.

    Arrivals to Prince George run Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays

    Departures from Prince George run Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays.
